The service
Picit provides a browser camera for event guests, a private shared photo album, and a scheduled reveal. Guests take photos using their phones without creating an account. Hosts choose when the album opens and who can see it.
Accounts
Hosts must be at least 18 years old. You must provide accurate account details and keep your account and event links secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Host responsibilities
Tell guests before they join that photos are collected and shared with you and, if you choose, other invited guests after the reveal. You must have the right to invite them and obtain a parent’s or guardian’s agreement for any guest under 18. Only upload and invite others to upload lawful content.
Guests
Guests do not need an account and provide only their first name. By agreeing on the welcome screen, guests agree to share the photos they take with the host, subject to the event’s visibility settings. Guests may contact us about their photos or consent.
Content ownership and licence
Photos belong to whoever took them and the host, subject to their respective rights and agreements. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store, process and display photos to provide the service. We never sell photos or use them in our marketing without written permission.
Prohibited content
Do not upload illegal, abusive, threatening, exploitative or infringing content, including content that violates someone’s privacy or depicts child sexual abuse. Do not interfere with the service or attempt unauthorised access. We may remove prohibited content and suspend events or accounts to protect people and comply with law.
Payments
Paid plans are one-time purchases per event. Prices, currency and applicable taxes are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store full card details. Brands & Events purchases are arranged separately. See our Refund Policy for refund eligibility.
Storage and downloads
Free albums are kept for 14 days after the reveal. Paid albums are kept for 12 months after the reveal. A keep-forever add-on removes the scheduled expiry while the service operates; it is not a guarantee that the service will operate indefinitely. The host is responsible for downloading and backing up photos before the storage period ends. Expired or deleted events and photos may not be recoverable.
Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, device compatibility or venue connectivity. We may change the service and these terms, with notice of material changes where appropriate. If the terms version changes, hosts will be asked to accept it again before creating a camera.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability relating to an event is limited to the amount paid for that event. Nothing excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your events. We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms, unlawful activity, or a security risk. Applicable payment obligations and provisions that by their nature survive termination remain in effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in Dubai. [TO CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL] Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
